Where does a softball player play when it's snowing?

by SKS
(MA)

In the northeast (we live in NewEngland) it is getting colder and dark earlier. There do not seem to be an abundance of indoor facilities unless a player is capable of making a club team roster. But what about the good player who is progressing well and totally committed who does not make the roster? Currently my daughters take pitching lessons but have little practice time pitching and even less fielding/hitting work. I've spent many hours on the internet but am unable to find any clinics in the area during the winter.

Practice in the garage
by: Anonymous

Another thing I've heard of people doing is hanging tarps or a carpet remnant in the garage. You can pitch or hit in to them during the winter. This is a great time to work on techniques and conditioning.

Look online
by: Amanda Kate

Look online for places to play, talk to other players. We have an indoor batting cage and we drive an hour to go to it. You might have to make that drive, however, in the end it is worth it.
