How do I increase my daughter's running speed?

by jjaly
(NY)

Hi everyone,

This is my first post. I have a daughter who just turned 12 and is a great control pitcher. She has her pitching speed up to about 46 mph. My problem is her running speed. She is very, very slow. She runs flat foot and I have no idea how to help her improve it. She would be a great all-around player if we can get her running up to speed, no pun intended.

Any thoughts or ideas on this? Can a child become a faster runner?

Thank you,
LYoung

Lyoung,
You got to keep her practicing running on her toes. Not flat feet. Keep her running everyday and correct her when she is running on her flat feet. Soon it will be just normal for her to run.
