by Dewayne
(Louisiana)

If a ball is hit into fair territory behind a base but the backspin takes it out of bounds in front of
the base (without being touched)is it fair or foul?

I agree, fair ball since it landed beyond the base in fair territory.

In all softball rule sets, a ball becomes fair as soon as it touches a person or the ground beyond first or third base regardless of where it goes next.
