Do right-left match-ups matter in fastpitch softball?

I have young daughters who are playing T-ball. I figure they may eventually play fast pitch. They are right-handed, but I'm wondering if it would be advantageous for them to hit lefty like it is in baseball when facing right-handed pitching.
